New mobility transportation
Plan networks for emerging travel modes
Forecast demand for shared and new mobility, autonomous vehicles, or eVTOL services based on real-world travel behavior.
Prioritize markets and deploy fleets based on current mobility patterns
Find the best locations and populations to launch new mobility services and expand existing ones based on travel demand.
Understand how all people move across the market, not only your existing customers.
See where people are coming from and going to today, either at the road segment level or region-wide, to inform network planning.
Get trip details like speed, distance, and more to model demand for other transportation choices like micro-mobility or urban air mobility.
Enhance travel patterns with demographics and trip purpose details to learn more about who is traveling and why in your service area.
Leverage nationwide transportation data to launch services and manage on-the-road or in-the-sky operations
Get startedNew mobility demand modeling for Uber Air
Read case studyUber wanted to estimate demand for Uber Air – exploring new technologies in urban air mobility – and identify the best locations for air taxi hub infrastructure using the movements of all traffic in a city. Although Uber had extensive ride-hailing data, it lacked data on personal vehicles and other modes to populate its model.
Uber created the Flux Optimizer model by combining their data with StreetLight metrics, including travel distance, origin-destination, and trip purpose by mode, to visualize 348 million miles of daily traffic. They identified locations for 40 nodes (a group of one or more skyports) based on the transportation data combined with real estate realities, airspace sequencing, and power grid optimization.

New mobility refers to various cutting-edge transportation technologies that are establishing new ways for people to get from place to place. Common examples include autonomous vehicles, electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft (AKA eVTOL), and micro-mobility modes like e-bikes and e-scooters.
StreetLight’s data on vehicle, bike, and pedestrian activity are already being used by agencies and businesses to measure and map demand for new mobility modes, plan optimal infrastructure deployment (such as where to build eVTOL helipads or electric charging locations), choose eVTOL routes that meet the needs of travelers, and more.
StreetLight Metrics like vehicle, bike, and pedestrian volumes, trip speeds, travel times, and origin-destination (O-D) patterns are just a few of our metrics commonly used to meet these new mobility goals.
